Job description

We are currently hiring an Engineering Supervisor for the Vehicle Properties group in the Vehicle Definition department. In this role, you will lead a team of approximately 10 engineers responsible for defining the vehicle's performance targets, requirements, and concepts. Your main responsibilities include managing and motivating your team, scoping projects, and ensuring efficient resource utilization. You will also provide input for planning and budgets, monitor project realization, and take action if deviations occur.

As the Engineering Supervisor Vehicle Properties, your role is vital to the success of the Vehicle Definition department. Your leadership and guidance will ensure effective vehicle definition, meeting performance targets, and staying within budget and timeline constraints. Your ability to manage and motivate a team, as well as your skills in project scoping and resource allocation, will be key to achieving desired outcomes. By providing input for planning and budgets and closely monitoring project realization, you can identify and address any deviations that may arise. This role requires technical expertise, strong leadership skills, and the ability to drive results in a dynamic engineering environment.
 

  • Developing the vehicle concepts of the relevant vehicle configurations and applications in coordination with Product Planning, internal departments within Vehicle Integration and with Vehicle Engineering;
  • Monitoring the vehicle properties during development as well as setting up and implementing risk reduction plans;
  • Reporting project deliverables to the project manager in accordance with QTCP;
  • Advising and making proposals for improvement or innovation of development processes and working methods;
  • The development of proposals concerns a coherent set of long-term visions per vehicle property area, in order to submit a proposal to the line manager for the formulation of the technology policy;
  • Ensuring that specific development knowledge is built up, secured and managed within the field.

As an Engineering Supervisor Vehicle Layout you are part of the Vehicle Definition staff and report to the Engineering Manager Vehicle Definition.

Your profile

The ideal candidate for the Engineering Supervisor Vehicle Properties role should have a technical background and a minimum of an Bachelor or Master level education. You should possess broad all-round vehicle knowledge, including a deep understanding of the PCP (Product Creation Process) development process and the methods and techniques used within it. These qualifications will enable them to effectively lead the Vehicle Properties team in defining vehicles, meeting performance targets, and ensuring successful project outcomes.

In addition:

  • Several years of management experience of multidisciplinary teams;
  • Concept thinker who can convert customer wishes into high performance, robustly integrable vehicle concepts;
  • Analytical insight with abstract thinking;
  • Natural leader, action and solution oriented, who can build a strong and future-proof team.
  • Maintaining external contacts with suppliers, knowledge institutes and universities, among others.

Department

The Vehicle Property group has 10 highly skilled engineers who define targets and requirements as input for vehicle development projects, and coordinate and monitor the output with regard to vehicle properties.

The group also develops and makes available technical expertise as well as achieving synergy/standardization across the projects.
