HBO/WO Internship: Forecasting Issue Trends for Project Management
Model forecast issue inflow and lead time to solutions for senior management project reviews and decision making
Job description
For our Project Management Office, we look for an intern who assists with Issue & Change Management Forecasting.
As an intern, you are responsible to forecast the inflow, trends of technical issues and the lead times towards solutions.
Your responsibilities include:
- Analyze historic data on issues and changes based on existing info and interview with key stakeholders;
- Define key variables such as severity, component, mileage or supplier, that influence issue trends;
- Build a model based on the previous two points that can quickly and robustly generate trends and lead times;
- Create a template report for project reviews to support senior management decision making;
- In addition you are involved in building progress reports for projects reviews and be involved in project reviews to senior management.
Your profile
We are looking for an enthusiastic HBO or WO student who is pursuing a degree in fields such as Product Development, Business Administration, Project Management or similar. The number of internship days and in office days is negotiable.
- You are enrolled in an HBO or WO program in the field of science, engineering or business.
- You are familiar with (linear) modelling and understanding trends and variables.
- You enjoy technical discussions and structuring and analyzing large data sets.
- You like to build presentations that are easy to understand and persuade the audience.
- You are comfortable to pro-actively engage with new people.
- You speak fluent Dutch or English.
Department
The Project Management Office is part of the Product Development organization of DAF Trucks and is located in Eindhoven. The department plays a crucial role in managing all major future developing projects with in DAF Trucks both in Europe as worldwide. The department manages project progress and presents status and trends to the organization and the board of management to facilitate senior level decision making and risk mitigation, all with the goal to successfully launch new trucks models.
This happens in close collaborations with operations, purchasing and marketing & sales, where issue and change management of technical problems found during the project is an important KPI to steer the organization. Currently, trends and forecasts are based on time consuming manual analysis and the goal is to have a model that can quickly and robustly generate the same information.
