As Unit Manager Product Management, your primary responsibility is to direct and oversee all Product Marketing activities. You coach a team of 4 Product Managers. You are responsible for managing the success of a product portfolio representing €100 million in sales value. Together with your team your goal is to achieve sales and profit objectives while maximizing customer satisfaction.

Besides managing the team, you also manage your own product group, where you play an important role in defining product, price and proposition strategies for this product group. You are accountable for the whole product lifecycle of the assigned product group. Shaping the PACCAR Parts assortment for the future!

Key tasks as Unit Manager Product Management:

  • Sets department objectives and oversee development of business plans to grow sales and increase profit
  • You initiate, manage and oversee projects, assortment reviews and product introductions and align with all stakeholders via clear communication on project-timings, forecasts and milestones
  • Lead the development and execution of new product launches and expansions
  • Manage supplier relationships in partnership with Purchasing while ensuring supplier performance meets PACCAR Parts expectations such as funding and content
  • You participate in multidisciplinary teams and have frequent consultations with Sales units, Dealers, Customers, Suppliers, Purchasing, Materials, Marketing Programs, Business Intelligence and Truck Marketing
  • Promote PACCAR Genuine, DAF and TRP brand initiatives, including support for TRP Retail Stores
  • You determine the assortment, branding, pricing strategy and the distribution within your assigned product group, in line with the DAF long term strategy and our customers’ requirements
  • Excellent analytic skills and ability to make detailed business case calculations to support the strategic choices and recommendations
  • Recruit and develop department talent and coach your team in their development

Jouw profiel

We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and extensive knowledge and experience in the field of Sales and Marketing or After Sales.

  • Commercially driven and 7–10 years of working experience, preferably in the automotive industry
  • You are result-oriented and used to working with goals while maintaining customer service and have excellent negotiation and presentation skills
  • You have a proven track record in managing and coaching a team in an international competitive business-to-business environment, preferably in the automotive sector
  • You have demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach and develop employees, strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and drive interdepartmental initiatives
  • You recognize and capitalize on commercial opportunities
  • Good knowledge of the aftermarket business and products of DAF trucks
  • Ability to communicate difficult business cases and technical information in a simple way to stakeholders within various departments
  • Extensive experience collaborating with cross-functional, international teams
  • Collaborate well in interdisciplinary project teams; Self-motivated and proactive
  • Outstanding spoken and written communication skills and excellent presentation skills in English

Department
The Product Management department is responsible for implementing, creating and managing the product marketing activities for all brands of Parts. This ranges from identifying the need for expansions on the assortment, working with the Purchasing department to select suppliers, optimizing the marketing mix of logistics, pricing and promotion with the respective supporting departments and ensuring the continued sales success in the market together with the Sales department.
