The annual Fleet News Awards ceremony is organised every year to honour best performing companies and trucks for the truck fleet industry, judged by an independent jury of business professionals. 

‘Fleet Manufacturer of the Year’

DAF was voted ‘Fleet Manufacturer of the Year’ because of its full New Generation trucks for long haul, distribution and vocational applications that were launched in the past 2 years and have introduced new standards in efficiency, safety and driver comfort. In addition, the jury explicitly mentioned DAF’s efforts to help fleets to begin their transition to electric. Also, DAF’s excellent roadside support was mentioned: “With the support of its excellent dealer network and initiatives such as DAF’s unique roadside assistance services, DAF once again proves it has the best products and service offering for fleet and transport managers.”

‘Best Rigid Trucks’

DAF received the ‘Best Rigid Trucks Award’ in both the up to and over 12 tonnes categories with its popular LF and XD models. The jury stated: “The LF is the 7.5-tonne benchmark that everyone is measured against. A tight turning circle, well-sized cab and low entry make it perfect for drivers, while the high payload, excellent total cost of ownership and ability to have a factory-fit body ensure it is the best all-rounder for fleets, backed by the finest dealer network in the UK.” 
DAF’s versatile XD range – already awarded ‘International Truck of the Year 2023’ – was acclaimed for setting a new benchmark. “USPs including cab safety and visibility, ensuring it is ideal in an urban environment, plus good fuel efficiency and excellent cab design for drivers, make it a worthy winner.”
