Namaste! My name is Sonal Patil, and I am proud to be a part of the Aftersales team at DAF Trucks, where I work as a Diagnostics Engineer specializing in diagnostics content authoring for chassis systems. With bachelor’s in Software Engineering and master’s degree in Automotive Electronics, I am excited to contribute my skills to this dynamic industry.
At DAF, I work with DAVIE tools, which empower technicians to diagnose faults in trucks effectively. These tools provide invaluable insights into where issues may arise and guide technicians on how to fix them. Every technician relies on a DAVIE tool. This tool is essential for technicians to maintain the quality and reliability of trucks at all stages: during production, after production, and while servicing.
Originally from India, I have six years of experience in the automotive sector, where I worked with various companies serving European markets. I had always dreamed of taking my career to the next level, and when I came across an opportunity at DAF on LinkedIn, I knew I had to go for it. This position offered me the chance to work closely with a team and engage physically with the trucks, which was a compelling reason for me to relocate to the Netherlands.
Moving from India to the Netherlands was a culture shock; however, I did not experience any stress in my new role. On the contrary, I felt an overwhelming sense of welcome and support from my colleagues, particularly in such a diverse environment at DAF. The openness and transparency of the DAF culture made my transition much smoother.
One of the most remarkable aspects of working here is the willingness of my colleagues to help me with any questions I may have—whether they are work-related or personal. This culture of support and inclusion has allowed me to thrive both professionally and personally.
