Hello, my name is Vinay, and I’m 28 years old. My journey began in India, where I completed my bachelor's degree before pursuing my passion for automotive engineering. I spent the first year of my master’s program in the Czech Republic and then moved to the Netherlands for the second year.
From the moment I arrived in the Netherlands, I fell in love with the country. The vibrant culture and open-minded people inspired me to build my career here. I knew this was where I wanted to grow both personally and professionally.
I began my journey at DAF as a hardware-in-loop engineer, initially through a consultancy. Right from the start, I noticed a contrast between the work culture here and what I had experienced in India. For me, the biggest improvement was the delightful blend of professionalism and openness that encouraged me to share my ideas and opinions. On my first day at DAF, I was pleasantly surprised to see how welcoming everyone was. I could approach my manager without hesitation, sharing my concerns and suggestions. This level of openness fostered an atmosphere of collaboration and innovation. I loved the freedom to explore ideas and ask questions without feeling constrained.
Over the past year and a half, I’ve immersed myself in the fast-paced world of automotive engineering. In my role, I’m not limited to a single project; I get to work on various initiatives, from hybrid vehicles to zero-emission projects. This diversity in my work has given me a comprehensive understanding of the industry. Each day presents new challenges, and I embrace every opportunity to learn and grow. One of the best aspects of my job is the integration of hardware and software. I don’t just sit in front of a laptop all day; I’m actively involved in developing solutions that I can see come to life during vehicle testing.

As I look toward the future, I am filled with excitement and determination. I’ve found not only a career but also a home in the Netherlands where I can thrive, innovate, and be myself. I am ready to embrace every new challenge that comes my way, knowing that each step brings me closer to my dreams. My journey continues, and I am excited to see where it leads me next.
